Teeth in a Day

You can have your “Teeth in a Day” here in Miami with Dr. Mongalo, ask for a Consultation.

What is “Teeth in a Day” ?

  • Teeth in a day is a proven procedure that has been used by Dr. Mongalo since 2004 to help patients with the following conditons:
  • Severe bone loss on entire arch to the stage where all the teeth are rendered “hopeless” (generalized advanced periodontitis)
  • Broken down teeth supporting crowns and bridges that can not be saved (unrestorable dentition)

The procedure entails the following steps:

  • Extraction of all hopeless teeth
  • Placement of implants immediately
  • Connect cylinders to the implants
  • Deliver a temporary fixed bridge
  • Steps 1-4 are performed on the same day which allows the patient to leave with teeth on the same day of the surgery.

What is the final bridge ?

A period of 4-6 months will be allowed before fabricating the final fixed bridge.
the bridge or prosthesis is composed of a metal bar that connects all implants. 10-12 resin teeth are processed onto the metal bar.
the bridge is fixed but can be removed by dr mongalo, so is called crew retained bridge

    Commonly Asked Questions

Can I have individual teeth as in replacing tooth by tooth not as a bridge ?

To do this Dr. Mongalo would have to place 12 implants per jaw. this is usually not possible due to bone loss conditions and extreme treatment cost.
this is not the idea behind “teeth in a day” technique. if the patient requests such treatment, dr mongalo will perform extensive bone crafting procedures prior to placing implants.

Are the teeth in the final bridge made of porcelain ?

The teeth are made of resin material, not porcelain. this material is selected because of the ability to replace or repair them in a few hours.
utilizing porcelain will necessitate remaking the entire bridge if ever something breaks.

Why does the final bridge has “screw access holes” on the inside portion ?

Having a prosthesis that can be unscrewed and removed in a few minutes allows dr mongalo to clean it, modify it or repair it in one day.

How many implants are needed for a “teeth in a day” procedure per jaw ?

Depends on the quality and quantity of available bone. on an average 6 to 8 implants are placed on the upper jaw and 5 to 7 implants on the lower jaw.

Will I be awake during the procedure ?

Dr. Mongalo will discuss the options of oral and IV sedation. oral sedation refers to taking a pill tha relaxes the patient, and sedation refers to the administration of drugs intravenous to cause deep sedation
which is done with the use of a certified nurse Anesthesist.
